In the early morning, our guide will pick you up at the hotel and walk to the nearby greengrocery market. You will find a throng of local people gather in the market to choose their favorite vegetables and meat for the whole day or even several days. You should never feel embarrassed when you see some people bargain on even a piece of vegetable leave, that is the very true characteristic of Shanghainese. Then visit a Children’s Palace of Yan’an Road. It is an activity centre for children where children can learn special talent such as dancing, singing, painting etc. You might have the chance to see the rehearsal of those cute Chinese children. After that, the guide will leads you to an old Shanghai buildings district in Shikumen style which is a construction style combining both Chinese style and the foreign style. Traced back to 1890s, it recorded the historical changes of Shanghai’s past. Experience this typical architecture while tracing Shanghai’s history. Then rest for lunch. Our last stop is Children’s Welfare in Hongkou district. It is a specialized organization educating those disabled children thus to encourage them back to the society. You can send small gifts for those children there if you want.
